Neurodevelopment and Psychosis Research Training Program
1 6 1 1c6The focus of the Neurodevelopment and Psychosis Research Training Program is to integrate basic and clinical neuroscience research in a cohesive effort to elucidate neural substrates of psychosis. Converging multidisciplinary approaches by collaborating laboratories at the University of Pennsylvania aim to contribute a new understanding of the symptoms, pathophysiology and etiology of psychosis.
2 24fResearch opportunities in animals and humans include the integration of neurobehavioral measures - cognition, emotion, olfaction - with neuroimaging, electrophysiological, cellular and molecular neuropathological measures. Genetic paradigms are pursued in examining endophenotypic markers and relevant disorders. A developmental perspective is an emphasis in human and animal studies. Trainees benefit from the rich and stimulating academic environment at Penn in pursuing innovative research in preparation for an academic career.
