19 19 19 31 19 65 19 7dClinical Research trainings are required for all staff conducting the following activities, including but not limited to; interaction with human research subjects screening, recruitment for research, regulatory and protocol submissions, research operations, reviewing and analyzing human research data, human research financial, operations and oversight of research support staff.
411Learning Management Systems (LMS) for clinical research: Trainings are primarily offered through Workday Learning. UPHS-only staff that require access to Workday Learning go through a process that identifies them as Extended Enterprise Learners. Submit a Solutions Center ticket, indicating “Learning Support” as the ticket category and the Workday Learning training you need.
3a0PennChart classes are listed in Knowledge Link (KL). University faculty and staff that require access to KL are considered dual users. A two-step process by which UPHS sponsors request access for Non-Payroll Resources (NPR) is linked here. During the process to request a new PennforPeople profile, the sponsor must also request access to Knowledge Link, which is a new step since March 6, 2023.

1d4All Faculty, clinical research coordinators, clinical research project managers, and other staff including but not limited to residents, fellows, research assistant, student workers, temporary and contracted hires who are involved in the conduct of human subject’s research at Penn are required to complete training specified in SOP 401.
118Each role will require completion of required or recommended trainings in Workday and/ or Knowledge Link as one criterion to move to the next role in the career ladder.

178Training of Clinical Research Professionals is largely competency based using the CTSA framework followed by ACRP. The Office of Clinical Research partners with ACRP (Association of Clinical Research Professionals) to provide training modules for the Penn Clinical Research Professionals community. These modules are supplemented with Penn specific content.
